On Tuesday 10th of November the public examination of the Coventry
Core Strategy
began, a four week process.
A rally to protest about proposals
in this Core Strategy for housing on the Green belt land around
Coventry.
took pace with a walk through city centre to the Council House
to protest about
the lack of consultation
and the imposition
of a strategy none of us support.
The walk
At 11.30am groups of protestors,
including MPs and Councillors, made their way
to the Council House in arriving for the rally at noon.
First walking
down the Bull Yard
then turning right into Market Way passing
Tesco's & British Home Stores.
At the fountain turning right to pass Marks & Spencer
and on
through the Upper Precinct, to Broadgate. Stops were made at the Godiva statue
in Cathedral Lanes and in front of the Cathedral. Upon reaching the steps of
the Council House the MPs and Councillors, as well as others addressed the protestors
to show thier support for the campaign.
ITV news were in attendance and
their news report appeared on the Saturday evening news.
