Earlier this month MP's Jim Cunningham,
Geoffrey Robinson & Mike
O'Brien met with Save our Greenbelt protestors from both
Keresley and Finham and agreed to issue press statements
and raise the issues on the floor of the House of Commons.
Geoffry Robinson, who attended an earlier
meeting held at the Hare & Hounds, has followed up his
promise to write to all his constituents regarding the proposed
eco-suburb in Keresley., calling it an ill conceived plan.
See Geoffry
Robinson letter for the complete text.
Cllr Andrew Burtenshaw of the Nuneaton
and Bedworth council, Cabinet Portfolio Holder for Planning
and Public Protection, attended a meeting in the Keresley
village Community Centre in September. Having been recently
appointed to the position he declared that he would do his
utmost to ensure that the 3500 homes that Coventry City Council
wanted them to build would not go ahead. The Nuneaton
and Bedworth have now officially rejected the proposal (
See Nuneaton
and Bedworth website ) and will be objecting to the Coventry
Core Strategy at its examination in November.
Protests have been held outside the town
halls of both Coventry and Nuneaton & Bedworth as well
as other locations. For further information visit the Save
Coventry's Greenbelt website. Please show your support
for the campaign by placing a copy of our poster in your window.
